Resident Updates
August 3, 2026
Resident entrance to their housing, workplaces, etc.
Originally, residents were told to access South Burdick thru Stockbridge for the start of the project. This is not working because there are too many vehicles entering the street expecting thru access. Please be advised that the ongoing nature of the project makes it difficult to predict each day what and where crews will be and how that impacts the flow of access to your businesses and households along S. Burdick from Stockbridge to Emerson.
Here’s what we know:
· Balch and Emerson will be your best access points to South Burdick.
· It is critical that you drive slow in the construction zone and on
Balch and Emerson as you enter into the street with barricades
restricting your access.
· Once you enter into South Burdick, you must drive with caution
allowing the construction vehicles access to the roadway.
They might not be able to see you or you might end up in an
area that will compromise your vehicle.
· Driveway access will be maintained, but if a side street is
accessible to your property, please use the side street.
There will be times…..
· When there is a construction vehicle in the intersection of
Emerson or Balch, you will have to use the other access point.
· There are two side streets that connect Balch and Emerson
Streets – S. Park Street and S. Rose Street. Use these streets
to find the access points to South Burdick.
· Please note that this is an active construction zone, your
understanding is so appreciated. But, if you have issues, concerns, or problems, please contact us so that we can work with the construction team to find a solution.
The Project Timeline:
This summer the original plans for construction were modified and this year only Phase 1.1 will be implemented. The other phases will be extended to 2027 and beyond.
