S. Burdick Street Water Main Improvements Project
Two year construction project - 2026-2027
The S. Burdick Street Construction Project is committed to enhancing our water supply through essential upgrades and community transparency.
General Information:
The project will replace and consolidate existing water mains with a new 24 and 16-inch transmission main along Burdick Street. Currently, this corridor contains a mix of pipe sizes, including 10-, 12-, and 24-inch mains, installed at different times. The project will standardize pipe sizing, consolidate multiple mains where possible, and improve the system’s ability to transmit water efficiently through this key north–south corridor.
In addition to water main improvements, targeted sanitary sewer work will be completed as part of this project. Sanitary sewer two-way cleanouts will be installed at individual properties along the corridor. These cleanouts provide an accessible connection point to the sewer lateral, making it faster, easier, and less disruptive to maintain or service sanitary sewer lines in the future.

South Burdick is your street and it’s an important gateway to downtown, as well as the Edison and Vine Neighborhoods. Street construction is part of how we maintain our city, neighborhoods, and our places where we work, live and play. The water main along S. Burdick needs to be replaced, beginning in 2026.
